Nathan Anthony Racing is extremely involved with the Legends Race Car Series, and is honoured to have the reigning champ, Lawrence Davey leading our team once more this coming year.
Increasingly Popular
This more popular then ever sporting recreation is gaining prestige all the time & offers the chance to take pleasure in countless hours of competitive and non-competitive enjoyment whilst driving around a number of the UK’s highest regarded race tracks.
Performing since the late 1990's, Legends Racing comes to visit tracks through the UK, and ran a fifteen round championship, however they did not visit Scotland during the past year.
Three contests are held - 2 heats and a final - at a round of the championship, the heats last somewhere between 7 and 12 laps dependant upon the circuit, with the final taking place over a couple of laps further. The grid for race 1 is drawn by drawing lots, with the reverse for Heat 2, and in the final the grid is formed by the reverse of the driver’s points in the earlier two races - which means the most impressive driver will start the race at the back.
Hugely Exciting
A Legends Race Car offers the excitement of Formula 1 motor racing but at a significantly more affordable level.
At Nathan Anthony Racing, our company offers you with a selection of race day sponsorships and company events. In addition to being exciting the cars also offer the opportunity to promote your own company.
The vehicle utilized for Legends Racing is a style of race car, created predominantly to boost stimulating racing whilst also keeping running costs to a minimum. The body shells of Legends Cars are 5/8-scale replications of American motor vehicles from the 1930s and 1940s, ana are driven by a Yamaha motor cycle motor.
In April of 92, an innovative new race car, the Legends Car, was introduced at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. H.A. "Humpy” Wheeler and Elliott Forbes-Robinson, developed the 5/8-scale fibreglass versions of the famed 1930-1940 NASCAR’s .The theory was to build a fun, reliable, and easily affordable "spec" class of racing for everybody.
Competitors are not allowed to make any important adjustments to the original car. Add a no-nonsense group of rules and you've got a series which is fair for everybody concerned.
The cars feature a Yamaha FJ 1200 motorcycle engine which produces 125 hp. Hp isn't a serious aspect in the Legends Race Car Series because the rules require use of a 13 inch, 60 series BF Goodrich radial "Legends Edition" tyre attached to a 7-inch wide steel wheel.
Highly Attractive Cars
One of reasons behind the success of the Legends Race Car Series is undoubtedly the car's appearance and feel. The fibreglass bodied vehicles are virtually precise replicas of the 1934 and 1940 Fords and Chevys that started the grassroots of racing as you may know it.
All two inches of the original car bodies were calculated and reduced by computer systems to ensure their legitimateness. In contrast to bigger, full-size cars, the Legends Car boasts a "lovely" visual appearance initially. Nevertheless the power of 120 horses of the Yamaha FJ 1200 quickly dispels any ideas that this race car means anything but serious business.
